TUHF’s goal with this project was to ensure that the space would support the mental and emotional wellbeing of patients and their loved ones, as well as dedicated hospital staff. The project team devised a plan for the space and, thanks to the incredible generosity of local companies and suppliers, created a room that truly encapsulates a calm and serene sanctuary within the hospital. Businesses including Winroys Furniture, Interface Flooring, Universal Floral, Flynns, M2 and AD Design donated their time, materials and skills to ensure the success of the project.
Amy-May Freeman, PM Group, said: “This project would not have been possible without the generosity and collaboration of our partners and suppliers. Everyone involved gave their time, expertise, and resources so willingly, and the result is a space that truly serves those who need it most. It was a privilege to work on a project where design could make such a meaningful difference.”
‘A Room for All’ is a project that holds particular significance for Fr John Kelly, Director of Pastoral Care, who officially unveiled the space at TUH and revealed that the room has already made a big difference in the lives of patients and their families.
“We are proud to play a part in creating an inclusive and welcoming space for both patients and staff. This project was successful thanks to the vital support provided by our Skillshare build partner PM Group, contributions from local businesses, and collaboration with colleagues throughout TUH.”
