Transforming Lives

At Tallaght University Hospital, we provide the best care and support to our patients, staff, and visitors. In celebration of the TUH 25^th Anniversary many of our amazing Healthcare colleagues have stepped out of their comfort zone and signed up to take part in an OsKaRs - TUH Goes to Hollywood event.

The seven films being produced include: Bridesmaids, Fr. Ted, Calendar Girls, Forrest Gump, Golden Girls, Sister Act and The Snapper! The grand finale of this cinematic endeavour will be the Gala Night in O’Reilly Hall, UCD on the 7^th of October where all these movies will be showcased, celebrated, and honoured. All staff participating in the OsKaRs have kindly committed to fundraising for our two inspiring initiatives for which we rely on your generous support. The Live Music Programme and Irish Therapy Dogs are programs that will further enhance the well-being and quality of life within the hospital environment.

The Live Music Programme:

Our Live Music Programme harnesses the power of music to provide therapeutic benefits to patients, staff, and visitors. Live musical performances have been proven to reduce stress, anxiety, and even pain levels among patients, creating a more soothing and healing atmosphere. With a diverse range of musical genres and styles, we aim to cater to the varied tastes and preferences of everyone in our hospital community. By integrating live music into patient care and common areas, we create a supportive and uplifting environment for all.

Irish Therapy Dogs:

Our partnership with Irish Therapy Dogs brings the comfort and companionship of specially trained dogs to our patients. These gentle and affectionate animals have shown incredible benefits, reducing feelings of loneliness and depression, improving mood and morale, and providing much-needed emotional support. By supporting Irish Therapy Dogs, you directly contribute to improving the well-being and recovery of our patients.
